SLOW TEMPO — CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Slow Tempo is an intimate calligraphy workshop conceived as a slow, attentive practice.
Designed as a quiet creative pause, the session invites participants to decelerate, refine their attention, and reconnect writing with the body. Through repetition, rhythm, and restrained gestures, the workshop explores the fundamentals of calligraphy in a minimal, guided environment — where focus is sustained over time and each movement unfolds at its own pace.
Open to all levels. Maximum 12 participants per session. All materials provided. No prior experience required.
A drink ticket (£6.50) is included with each booking — choose from a Sonic Tonic, wine, or beer.
Two sessions: 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM.
A Mother's Day Soul Session
A Mother’s Day Soul Session
Rare soul vinyl all afternoon — sweet soul, funk, lowrider, rare groove, deep soul, steppers and more.
Symphonical is a label dedicated to unearthing and reviving soul music from back in the day — bringing obscure records back into the light, telling the stories behind them, and giving voice to the independent creators who made them.
JM is a long-time DJ, journalist (Touch Magazine), collector and radio presenter (Kiss FM, Solar Radio, Mi-Soul and Global Soul). Renowned for his extensive vinyl archive, he’s a resident at Global Soul Vinyl Takeover, Color One Tear Black and Carib Soul rare soul events, and has been featured on My Analogue Journal on YouTube. He also runs a small label reissuing rare soul on vinyl and distributing releases from other independent labels.
The UK-based label is run by James Pogson — DJ, collector and researcher — who created The Key To Our Love compilation series and works directly with the musicians and creators who originally brought these records to life.
Flipside Lovers are a California-based vinyl DJ duo — Anthony Perez (Akro1) and Stephanie Ramirez (Ambitious Outsider) — dedicated to playing soul 45s and preserving the West Coast oldies scene. Known for their deep collection, they travel internationally sharing rare vinyl, with appearances in Paris, Northern England and Mexico.
Mihoko began her career in the mid-90s as a founding member of Japan’s first female reggae sound system, quickly building a reputation touring across Japan while making regular trips to Jamaica to cut dubplates.
In 1998 she relocated to New York City, where she held residencies and guest spots at a number of respected venues. Adapting to the city’s diverse club scene, she expanded her sound — blending hip-hop, soul, funk, disco, boogie, afrobeat and house while staying rooted in reggae.
DEEP DOWN INSIDE
Three friends who live for records and losing themselves in the music — drifting through house, disco, sweat and good vibes until the outside world disappears.
They’re digging deep into their collections for a special extended session at Behind This Wall: a hidden basement gem where valve-amplified hi-fi sound, bespoke cocktails and late-night shenanigans are simply how things are done.
£8 advance / £10 cash on the door
Entry includes a Sonic Tonics cocktail on arrival
No table bookings after 9pm.
See you in the dance.
The DJs:
Ed & JD are pair of House heads and taste makers, with a not so secret passion for 80’s balearic bangers, soft rock, disco, garage etc. Together they created Okay Good, one of south London’s top House/Techno parties, hosting some of the scene’s true players and really making space for the groove, artistic expression and music without boundaries.
JD, once found behind the counter at the infamous Phonica Records, is now making waves in Brighton with VOYA, award winning bar & restaurant hosting top DJs and selectors to soundtrack your evening. Ed, one of London’s hardest working DJs & previously a host on Peckham’s Ballami radio, is the man behind Soft Tuesdays. With a catalogue of deep electronic house and techno releases to his name and regular appearances across the capital, you’re always in safe hands when Eddie’s in the mix.
James The Fish, founder of Something Good (hair & records) in Hackney, is another music head and dedicated lover vinyl. Over the years hosting nights in Cambridge (The Priory), Manchester & Liverpool (Gutterfunk), and the infamous VIPenis in East London. Appearing also at warehouse parties, raves and holding down residencies at Secret Garden Party and Meadows in the Mountains festival, James brings a bag full of sonic treats to tempt you onto the floor.
This party is open to everyone with an open mind.

IN SESSION: Chaia – DJ set
DJ performance from Chaia, playing on vinyl and cassette.
Chaia works at the intersection of Yiddish culture and electronic club music – weaving archival Yiddish samples with techno and ambient forms, and bringing ancestral sound into a contemporary, ritual-like listening space.
Her performances draw on accordion, voice and tape, inviting reflection on memory, lineage, and the echoes that travel across generations - all grounded in deep research with Yiddish archives and a background rooted in klezmer tradition.
