Easter Weekend parties & raising donations for Save The Children

For Good Friday and Easter Saturday we are gonna be lowering the decks from 9pm and running late with a pair of parties to shake into Spring in style!

It’s been a while (NYE to be precise) since we’ve thrown off the shackles. This is because we are about to undertake a run of soundproofing and acoustic treatment works to improve the acoustics in the space with the support of Hackney Council. The works won’t begin until June and look set to complete in August, after which these kinda events may become a more regular occurrence once again. We are hugely grateful to the council in their support of this project; not only to allow us to better showcase the system and some live music, but also to utilise the big booth as a podcast studio to get our If These Walls Could Talk series started in lockdown up and running professionally.

Expect to hear more on this very soon, but for now, we are gonna have one last large weekend with the current set up.

On Friday it’s Bunker 194 led by our very own Paulistano birthday boy - Brenno. Anyone who experienced the vibe here on NYE will know what to expect; left-field house and electronica with a tropical edge and an acute diggers’ ear to a safe, open and up for it crowd.

On Saturday the Baldhead crew return to the basement for the first time in 3 years (sic?) to spin some crunchy Easter Eggs and celebrate the return of Rosie from the Canadian wilderness.

Across both nights we’ll run table service till 9 then it’s all eyes and ears on the dance-floor for the remainder. Crucially, from 9pm we’ll be operating DJ donations on the door and the bar has pledged to match all money raised with a donation to Save The Children via the Arsenal Vision Podcast and the Arsenal Foundation. Footie tribalism aside (yes, this North London bar is own and run by a die-hard gooner, we do have some Sp*rsy people here too) this is a fantastic cause run by some wonderful people who are using their community reach to raise money for kids suffering from the horrors of the war not only in Ukraine but also Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria. You can read more here about the campaign here which is already running at about 130% of its target of £50,000. If you can please do donate, there’s a raffle draw to win a ticket to the Arsenal Everton game on the last day of this season in a 5-star box with the podcast team!
