On Fertile Ground
Last week's Rinse show is up for playback. Broadcast the Saturday before Easter. The first lark of spring properly arriving and things beginning to stir. The set was earthy & unhurried. A bit like watching something grow without pulling it up to check.
It started very much in-the-room with The Walker Brothers and ended, somehow, with U2. In between, the spirit animals: Marty Robbins, Leonard Cohen, Mort Garson talking to a snake plant, Herman Chin Loy, and Elvis doing gospel things.
Sometimes the best days/sets/weeks/nights are the ones where you play the one that shows itself, rather than the one you thought it might be.
Track-list and link below. Happy Easter.
