It's about people now, not business

Time to make some noise!

Our industry has already been devastated by the COVID-19 outbreak, with over a million jobs lost this week alone. Whilst we and many others are working round the clock to completely alter our means of business to re-fashion our output in the event of a mandated lock-down; in the here and now, the bar is closed and has been since Tuesday (17th March). This was not an easy decision to make: on the one hand the government have been amping up their warnings regards ‘unnecessary gatherings’ all week, encouraging people to stay away from venues like ours; on the other hand, we have bills to pay, cash flow obligations to reach and, most importantly, staff to protect. In the name of public safety we made the tough decision to close but, can understand why many other such businesses as ours have opted to stay open. It is frankly an absurd abdication of duty that this monumental choice has been deferred by our leaders in government to panicked small and independent business owners.

Since Tuesday, we have joined forces with a small army of UK venues and the incredible NTIA to lobby government to provide clarity on how to protect our staff. Please share the two attached images to this post where you can in order to place pressure on government; copy the text below and use the relevant tags provided. People in our hospitality industry should not be punished for doing the right thing.
