Real to Reel

This Sunday our crew will be driving the system themselves for the inaugural Be In My System event. The idea is to put together a mixtape using the hi-fi and odds bits found in the cupboard under the stairs without any of the recording being digitised or touching a DAW/computer. There’s the in-house kit (2 turntables, CDJs, mixer etc), a mic, a Roland SH-101 and 606, an old Tascam 4 track recorder and the Nakamichi master tape deck; and four or five willing members of staff to make a jazz-hash-scrub sesh.

Call it the first ride of the House Band. It may work, it may be a misstep; it will be interesting and, all being well, there’ll be a lovely little accompaniment to the launch of our Winter Menu next month.

Working title to the theme ‘Into the Woods’.

Doors from 6pm – band on stage from about 8pm.

ANATOMY OF A MIXED DRINK

For those interested in how a menu comes together - we’ll be running a WORKSHOP next Wednesday (27.11.19) around the winter list if you would like to attend and feedback on some the creations! More to follow next week here in the Zine.
